Your Personal Game Plan

This system or plan for personal success is modeled on a fabulous resource that I was exposed to years ago. It is called Super Self, by Charles Givens. I listened to it on a tape that my dad gave me, but it was also a best selling book many years ago.

Prior to my exposure to Super Self, I had attended various seminars and training sessions. Most had to do with goal-setting, time-management and team-building. I had the common experience where I took some good ideas from these sessions, but had trouble incorporating them into my life. Like most people, I'd get excited for a while, try a few ideas, and then settle back into old habits and ways of doing things. These programs were missing something that would make a lasting difference. When I listened to Super Self, a couple things that were different in Given's approach struck me like a lighting bolt. I knew without a doubt that this program would make a huge impact and change in my life—and it has!

Givens designed a plan with five key elements: dreams, goals, values, action plans and daily activities. I use all these elements in my plan, but have modified them. I have added one more element that I believe is critical—passions. I have also made some other adjustments as I have modified and used the system throughout the years.
